Millbrook Cottages

Approached by a private driveway,Millbrook has been carefully restored and converted on the original site of the water-driven corn mill formally known as Pulley Mills.

Millbrook is situated within a 32 acre estate which has previously been awarded first prize by the Conservation Foundation. The estate comprises of 3 lakes, a stream which runs through it, woods to explore, and with large grass areas for picnics, sun bathing or just to relax on. The lakes are well stocked so you could try out your fishing skills and see if you can catch a trout.

Millbrook is situated less than 3/4 of a mile walk outside the village of High Bickington where you will find two pubs, both serving good food and fine ales. There is also a village post office selling newspapers and refreshments.

The Wheel Room is ground floor level with double aspect windows and French doors leading out to a small sunny patio area, with garden furniture on the glorious estate.

The living room is bright and cheerful with a colour TV, DVD, video, hifi unit and telephone. There is an effect gas wood burner for cosy evenings.

The bathroom has a bath, shower over, wash basin and WC. There is one double bedroom with linen and towels included.

A feature window has been created in the stone wall of the mill to reveal the water driven wheel and with the warm furnishing this is an inviting room for those quiet evenings.

With many walks nearby guests are welcome to bring there dog along to the wheel room. The nearby pubs also accept well behaved dogs.

Pulley Mill is nestled quietly on the second floor and has views over the Millbrook estate. Pulley was the original name of the mill and the original workings of the old mill are clearly visible.

The open plan lounge/dining room is light and airy, with a colour television with inbuilt free view, DVD, video hifi unit and telephone. There is a raised galleried kitchen with a balustrade balcony, and comprising of a gas cooker, microwave and fridge.

There is a double bedroom with linen and towels and a bathroom with a large corner bath, wash basin and WC.

With beams extending up into the apex roof and a gas effect wood burner it is a welcome retreat at the end of a day in North Devon.

In Corncott the original water wheel can be clearly seen through a feature window from the main living area and the beams and original workings that held the grinding stones in position are given pride of place.

A spacious first floor cottage with comfortable lounge containing a gas effect wood burner, with digital colour television, DVD, hifi unit and telephone, the double aspect window enjoys a glorious countryside view.

The modern kitchen with gas cooker, microwave and fridge provides ample space for any meal.

There are two bedrooms, a double room with a television and video and a single room, both light and airy. Linen and towels are included. There is a shower room with an extra large shower, wash basin and WC.
