The Station and Garden: This original, Victorian railway station has been lovingly restored and now offers art exhibitions, a wide variety of courses, plants for sale and two charming cafés. A delightful Woodland Garden extends down the track under the bridges for everyone to enjoy. It is a unique attraction, appreciated for its tranquillity, imaginative planting and unusual landscape.
Jane Torday, former owner and now our garden consultant, is happy to give guided tours by appointment to small groups throughout the summer on weekdays.

Food and Drink: cakes, hot and cold drinks, home-made soup and other organic and local delights are served in the Station; self-service snacks and drinks are available in the Leaning Shed Café.

Courses: We offer courses in a whole range of areas to suit all levels: art, crafts, gardening, ecology, poetry, food - creative, informative days out with real inspiration and a delicious lunch included. For more about The Garden Station’s courses and events, see our website or ring 01434 684 391

Plants for sale: A selection of hardy and interesting perennial plants from Northern nurseries is available as well as a number of woodland plants propagated at The Garden Station.

Opening times: March to December 10a.m. - 5p.m. The Leaning Shed café and the Woodland Garden are open to visitors 7 days a week. The main café is open from Thursdays-Mondays (Fridays-Mondays from March to April and September to New Year).
