Jervaulx Abbey is a ruined Cistercian Abbey, set in 110 acres of parkland noted for its lovely wallflowers and shrubs. Privately owned, supported by English Heritage. We are situated between Masham and Middleham in the Yorkshire Dales. The grounds are not manicured, so the visitor gets a true feeling of tranquility and serenity as they wander around.
The Abbey is open all year round from dawn to dusk.
Entry is by payment into an 'Honesty Box' at the entrance and then the visitor can just wander amidst the 180 wall flowers and imagine how the monks must have survived!
