Established in the Men's Casual Wards of the former Ripon Union Workhouse. Includes the 14 cells where the tramps were locked up for the night, the ablutions room, the old day room and work yard have all been refurbished to give a portrayal of the grim treatment of vagrants 100 years ago.
The Hard Times Gallery depicts the harsh conditions of the poor in Victorian times. In a large day room, added in the 1920s and in the cells are wall displays showing conditions in Yorkshire's Work.
