Of all the ten museums at the Ironbridge Gorge, Blists Hill Victorian Town is perhaps the most popular. The open-air museum allows visitors to experience an atmospheric way of Victorian life in the late 1800's.

Life is re-enacted by townsfolk who wear the attire of the day and who go about their daily live's in the shops and workplaces of this authentic Victorian community. Many have been specially trained with specific skills and crafts and are ready to demonstrate to visitors, exactly how certain tasks would have been done in a small industrial town towards the end of Queen Victoria's reign, in the 19th century.

The attractions at Blists Hill include a nineteenth century steam-operated pithead, a Victorian chemist, a squatters cottage, a schoolhouse and a bank, where you can obtain Blists Hills own Victorian legal tender to spend in the towns shops and pubs. You'll also join in a variety of special events including:- weddings, steam days and vintage cycle rallies that take place throughout the year.

Refreshments are available at three locations within the museum. The Entrance cafe is open to coach parties and the general public. The Forest Glen Pavilion is a restaurant serving a range of hot and cold snacks, cakes and pastries, and the New Inn & Club room is open for traditional cask ales, morning coffee, lunches and afternoon teas.
