Well preserved 12th Century Priory housing a museum of the Priory's history. At some time during 2008 the museum will close for building work.

As well as displays on the wildlife of south east Essex and on the history of the Priory, there is a major "communications" display. The latter is centred around the products of the EKCO (EK Cole) factory that used to stand in Priory Crescent just north of the Priory, including early examples of radios and televisions.
