This restored 1821 women's operating theatre is the only 19thC operating theatre in England. Exhibits tell the story of surgery and herbal medicine. The operating theatre is a fascinating glimpse into the past. This historic buildingprovides the central point for a display and collection which tells the story of St Thomas' Hospital from the 13thC to 1862 when the hospital, and the Florence Nightingale School for nurses moved to Lambeth.
