The only museum in Britain devoted to vintage plastics from the Victorian Age to World War II, thought to be the largest collection in Europe. The colourful exhibits range from familiar domestic items to the totally unexpected, like the bakelite coffin. It covers the history of early plastics, and many non-plastic objects, like early refrigerators, cookers, etc. even vintage caravans, which form an important but overlooked part of our recent cultural heritage. Featured on television and recommended by the BBC television 'Holiday' programme, it is a delightful feast of nostalgia.
