The village is built on a 400ft cliff with narrow cobbled streets leading down to a 14thC harbour. This fishing village has hardly changed in the last 300 years. Sledges and donkeys are the only means of transport through the village. A visitor centre provides modern facilities and includes an audiovisual programme. The modest charge covers provision of facilities and contributes to the upkeep of the village.
