Nestling in the peaceful West Devon countryside, Dingles Steam Village offers a unique opportunity to view our industrial heritage in beautiful rural location. There are working and static exhibits of steam engines and vintage machinery, together with hands-on displays. Combined with our superb fairground art, and collections of vintage road vehicles and road signs, this all makes an educational day out for the entire family.

The museum is also now the home of the National Fairground Collection. Come and see our new 25,000 sq" gallery, currently under construction, and which is due to open fully in 2007.

The cafeteria, open all day, is housed in a beautifully converted barn, full of character, along with a gift shop and award winning toilets. Entrance to the cafeteria and shop is free and we welcome visitors who just wish to use these facilities.

Dingles Steam Village also offers delightful walks along the rivers Thrushel and Wolf. These give an excellent opportunity to appreciate the wonderful Devon countryside and wealth of wildlife. For those who wish to picnic there are shady spots by the river, a picnic terrace close to the café and additional tables in the playground area and there is also a toddlers playhouse and slide.

The attraction is easy to locate, less than a mile off the main A30 dual carriageway west of Okehampton – look for our brown signs. There’s also plenty of free parking for both cars and coaches.
