Exhibition contains the history of the town from prehistoric through stone and iron ages, with an extensive collection of locally found fossils and artefacts. Descriptive panels show life in the Roman and Saxon occupations and tell the story of the 12thC royal forest and palaces of Kings Court. The artist, John Constable's association with the town is depicted in one section with reproductions of his local works.
