A garden of year-round beauty, Knoll Gardens is a dramatic showcase for th UK's leading ornamental grass specialist, and the setting for over 5,000 plant species including many rare and native varieties.

Set against a magnificent backdrop of unusual trees and shrubs the secluded garden is also right at the forefront of a new wave of gardening: introducing, growing and showing new plants within its glorious four-acre setting.

Many people now visit Knoll purely to buy from the nursery. With seven consecutive Chelsea Gold Medals to its name, the quality of all the plants grown is assured and the huge range of grasses includes the most exciting and varied selections in the country. These are complemented by a select choice of perennials with both ranges featuring an increasing number of native species.

The story of Knoll Gardens began over 40 years ago with a wonderful collection of unusual trees and shrubs in a secluded garden in eastern Dorset. Many of these original plants now provide the framework for some spectacular modern displays, using grasses and perennials to create an ever-changing wealth of colour, shape and form - whatever the season.

Visit in spring to discover the first green tapestry of grasses, studded with glorious seasonal highlights.
In summer, stroll through the borders abundant with wildlife and the first fresh flowers.
In autumn the spectacular colours come alive throughout the garden and the true year-round beauty of gardening with grasses is obvious for all to see.
Return in winter to a glorious winter wonderland: the sight of a towering miscanthus backlit by the winter sun is one to be long remembered.

Now internationally renowned for its naturalistic style of planting, a visit to Knoll Gardens is certain to impress plant enthusiasts and grasses aficionados alike. Such is the drama of this modern garden that even complete gardening novices are sure to be inspired and to find something to interest them and even inspire new interest in their own gardesn.
