The Merchant's House
One of the abbey cottages, built 1450, restored 1970. Simply furnished in solid oak to suggest the domestic scene in a medieval merchant's house.

Two storey late 15th century building restored to show the construction of a late medieval/early tudor shop and home. Here you can see the original timber frame, complete with mortice and tenon joints, the wattle and daub walls and the smoke void.
