Deserted village during World War II to allow the live firing of tanks and other army weapons. The village is open to the public when no firing is taking place, which is most weekends and school holidays. The school room and church houses, a pictorial exhibition depicting life in the Tyneham valley before the evacuation. Then there is a short walk from the village to the spectacular Worbarrow Bay which is part of the jurrasic coastline.
