Short Description is not available
The ancient village of Arreton, settled over 1000 years ago, is set in the traditional and geographical heart of the island and offers the tourist a glimpse into the Island's past. A stroll round the picturesque village encompasses the Lavender Cottage Herbal Craft Shop, the Island's Brass Rubbing Centre and the 12th Century Church of St George, with its famous Burma Star window. Pause for a moments contemplation beside the historic Carp Pond mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Wander then into the newly refurbished Arreton Barns Craft Village. Our aim is to present the Island at its best, with local craftsmen, locally produced crafts, wholesome local food and local agricultural artefacts. Visit our shop The Corn Exchange and choose from the range of carefully selected gifts from around the world, have a drink or meal at The Dairyman’s Daughter Freehouse and sample our own beer produced on the site using local ingredients, or enjoy a fresh cream cake and a coffee in the Maltings Tearoom.
