Interesting collection of 19th century farm tools, penny farthing bicycle and other items from the town's past, an Oxfordshire wagon and old photographs.
The Charlbury Society maintains The Charlbury Museum, which contains many items reflecting the history of the town and its people. There is a large archive of maps and photographic material relating to the town's history and day-to-day life. Of particular note is a period model of a local school dating from 1815 and used at the time to collect the children's fee of a penny a week.
The Museum is open from Easter to the end of September on Saturdays from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm. Special opening can be arranged by telephoning the Curator, Mr Ron Prew, on 01608 810060
