This charitable trust Museum exhibits undercover attractive, historic small craft together with topical displays of maritime history as well as marine craft tools. The collection now includes a number of Island lifeboats, some classic power boats and personal craft of Uffa Fox. The restoration project presently on view, with work in progress, is the launch owned by Mr Frank Beken from which many beautiful photographs were taken in the 1930's. A unique feature is that all craft are fully restored and used on the water for rallies. Research work may be undertaken using the computerised archives and the help of friendly volunteers. Visitor facilities are excellent and particularly suitable for the disabled.
Open daily from 25th March to 2nd Nov 10.00 - 16.30. We are open Tue and Sat 10.30 - 15.30 in the Winter, last admission: 15:00.
