A stone chapel built around 1250 with a heritage centre containing historical details, photographs and writings about Belper. Belper was a small town whose main industry until the late-18thC was nail making when Jedidiah Strutt built a cottonmill on the River Derwent. His business apprentice Samuel Slater left for America and founded a mill in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and became the 'Father of American Manufactures'. Details are in the chapel.
