A neo-gothic monument. In celebration of the marriage of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, erected in 1859 near the site of one of Banbury's original crosses from which the nursery rhyme `Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross' was derived. This nursery rhyme has made Banbury Cross famous throughout the world.
