The Gurkha Museum has something to interest people of all ages and is very suitable for a family outing. Besides tableaux, dioramas and showcases it has visual and voice descriptions of the history of Gurkha regiments and a display commemorating the winners of 26 Victoria Crosses. There is also a shop well stocked with things which relate to the Gurkhas and Nepal.
The Gurkha Museum commemorates the services of Gurkhas to the British since 1815. The story starts with a view of the Gurkha and Nepal, his homeland, before the visitor is taken through the main chapters of gurkha military history from 1815 to the present day.
Open: Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm. Sunday 12-4pm. Admission: Adult £2, Child/senior citizen £1. Servicemen free entry. Special rates available for groups.
