Rated highly by Pevsner and often referred to as 'The Cathedral of Yorkshire Congregationalism', St Andrew's is a truly remarkable Nonconformist church. Designed by Lockwood and Mawson in a neo-Gothic style, it was begun in 1864 and paid for largely by industrialists from the West Riding, Lancashire and the Midlands who spent their holidays in Scarborough. A huge building, it contains glass by Wailes of Newcastle and, unusually, a chapel dedicated to St John.
Service times: Sun 1030.
