Built in 1911 by Leonard Stokes, this bold church with its squat square tower stands on a bank, which in spring is covered by a carpet of daffodils. Noteworthy features include a fine carved stone font by the sculptor Eric Gill and the altar stone of the 17th century martyr, Nicholas Postgate, who served as a priest in this area and lived for a while in Pickering. Outside, the church garden provides a peaceful place for prayer and reflection.
