Situated in Old Felixstowe. A quiet predominantly residential, area on the outskirts of the main town; the stretch of beach known locally as 'The Dip' provides a discreet alternative to the commercialised resort beaches nearby.
This beach comprises shingle with some sand at low tide and is divided by groynes. Its backdrop is a contrast between newly renovated terracing, (providing both promenade, wide access steps and sea defence features) and rows of conventional beach huts situated at slightly higher level, These colourful landmarks together with picturesque views from beach and cliff top, of Felixstowe Ferry entrance, Martello Tower, Bawdsey Manor etc, accentuate the traditional aspect of this stretch of coast.
