This beach forms part of a seven-mile stretch of sand from Burnham-on-Sea to Brean Down and features a long sea front promenade that would be the envy of many a coastal resort. The abundance of sand dunes provides shelter and a convenient sun trap for visitors intent on topping up their sun tans. The nearby traditional seaside town of Burnham has an interesting church which has carvings from the now demolished Palace of Whitehall. Two prominent landmarks are the skyline dominating High Lighthouse which is 100 feet high a and the Low Lighthouse with it's characteristic nine legs situated on the beach.
