Opened in 1981 his spectacular bridge was he worlds lones single span suspension bridge. From the walk or cycle ways there are panoramic views East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire. The best views of the bridge are from the south bank viewing area where there are toilets and children's play area and the nearby Waters' Edge County Park and Visitor Centre.
