Low Newton is a charming sandy beach situated in a sheltered bay on a stretch of Northumberland coast that is owned by The National Trust. It is a popular spot for ramblers and bird watchers, in particular the 'Newton Pool Bird Reserve' overlooking Newton Pool. The beach at Low Newton runs into Embleton Bay and together the two provide nearly two miles of breathtaking scenery, complete with romantic views of the medieval ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Low Newton-by-the-Sea is a delightful village and The Ship Inn is an excellent friendly pub that serves a good selection of bar meals.
