The small church at Preston Gubbals has a lengthy and complicated history.
The structure was originally the chancel of the medieval church but a larger Victorian church was built in 1866 which became the south aisle of the current church.
In 1973 it was demolished to within a few feet of the ground except for the 12th century effigal slab and a 17th Century font.
