The Town, one of the most popular resorts on the East Coast boasts award winning clean beaches, a busy harbour, fresh fish and friendly people.

In recent years the fairways have been made tighter and the irrigation improved by the planting of some 3,000 trees and six water features. Environmentally the amount of wildlife has increased while still maintaining the smell of salt water and breathtaking panoramic views.

The presentation of the course is outstanding with some of the finest greens in the area. On the doglegged holes the new trees have increased the difficulty and a long drive is necessary to obtain a clear view for the approach shot.

The 6th at 474 yards is a very difficult dogleg. The drive must be long and left of centre. On the left are well-positioned bunkers, drive right and the second shot could be out of range, play short and the approach is both long and blind. The fairway does slope down to the green, which helps the approach shot although bunkers left and right will catch anything off line. Most would settle for a five on this hole.

The 14th also doglegs to the left and the drive again needs to be straight and long to open up the hole. There are bunkers both left and right. The approach must carry the extended pond short of the green while anything pushed to the right is in danger of going into the water.

The par 5, 18th is an excellent finishing hole, reachable in two, by the very longest hitters but full of potential dangers. The drive must carry the trees some 140 yards in front of the tee. If you hit the trees the ball has a nasty habit of landing in the pond. Drive too far left and the second shot is blind. The approach shot is tough, there is out of bounds to the left, while landing on the wrong level of the large two-tier green can result in a three-putt finish.
