Quarry Park Frisbee Disc Golf

What is Disc Golf ? Disc Golf is a great sport for all ages and abilities. The idea is simple, you have to throw a special Frisbee into a metal basket in as few shots as possible. Like golf, there are 18 holes, and we talk of drives and putts, birdies and bogies. However, the distances are shorter, at around 70 to 90 metres, and there's no dress code!

Can anyone Play? Quarry Park has been meticulously designed to be fair to beginners and challenging to pros. We welcome everyone from family groups and tourists looking for a fun Frisbee activity, to professional level players from abroad. Disc golf is great for groups outings too - we have had stag parties, sports clubs, scout groups, office outings etc.

Is it a real sport? Absolutely! There are more than 2000 courses worldwide, and a professional tour worth over 1 million dollars. The course is owned, designed, and operated by long time enthusiast Derek Robins, the UK's most successful player. Derek still competes professionally in Europe and USA, but is often on hand to show visitors the basics before they play.

What is the course like? Quarry Park occupies 15 acres of Warwickshire's finest countryside adjacent to the river Avon. At the beginning, in 1994, there was only open pasture, but more than 1,500 trees have been planted to create a challenging course in a beautiful parkland type setting.

How long does it take? For people new to the game, I recommend playing just the top 9 holes initially. These are more beginner friendly, and a group of 4 new players may take around 90 minutes. Then, if you are feeling intrepid, you can play the more challenging bottom 9.

What should I bring? Well you don't need to bring a Frisbee, the fee includes the hire of one golf disc. Do choose your footwear and clothes carefully, as this is a countryside activity, and you may encounter nettles or boggy ground in places.
