Ashfield House is a secluded 17th century private Guest House offering Hotel services, situated down a small lane, only a few yards from the cobbled village square. As resident owners, we extend a warm and friendly welcome, in the relaxed atmosphere of our 'Home from Home' environment, offering all the opportunity to enjoy the dales and relax while visiting us. There are no strangers here, just friends we have yet to meet.
The House benefits from full central heating, which, together with a wood burning stove and our large open fires creates that cosy atmosphere particularly in the colder months. Many an evening has been spent with friends roasting chestnuts and marshmallows whilst sipping a glass of wine. The seven twin or doubled-bedded rooms all have private facilities, colour television, hairdryers and courtesy tray. Our Luxury Garden Suite which we opened last year has become very popular and offers one that cosy, intimate private environment.
One does not eat at Ashfield House but dines in the company of friends and enjoy excellent food locally sourced passionately prepared by Joe and his team. The cuisine is essentially English with a continental influence.
Breakfast is a feast, offering amongst other things, a choice of home made granola, muesli, yoghurt, specially processed bacon and sausages, fresh eggs from the free range chicken farm up the hill, delivered daily, and our preservative free bread prepared by Angela in her bakery in Threaplands.
Our speciality dishes include Gressingham Duck breast with fig and port wine sauce, Roast rack of lamb with rosemary and red wine jus, Fresh Sea Bass with a light champagne and cream sauce.
Interesting deserts include our new range of jellies and home baked traditional deserts, including sticky toffee puddings and Elizabeth’s exceptional bread and butter pudding.
All this contribute to providing you with one of the best dining experience in the village.
