This part of the canal is perfect for fishing. The water is fairly uniform throughout and the best fishing is found by following the wind.

Sparth Reservoir is found in the picturesque village of Marsden. Part of the reservoir connects to the Huddersfield Canal.

Please note if you are wanting to fish, permits are required. Members and day permits are available but must be obtained before fishing, please contact Slaithwaite & District Angling Club for more information.

Please mote that this is a very popular walking spot but because it is a reservoir, no facilities are available for visitors. Access for disabled users is limited.
