Domesday Book mentions a church here, but the walls and roof of this building are 13th century and the windows and chancel screen (now at the west end) are 15th. The interior was remodelled in 1703 and its character today comes from that period. There is a fine Jacobean monument to Sir Richard Powlett, two hatchments and a Royal Arms of 1701, and three superimposed layers of wall paintings on the north wall.
