The park has five football pitches that are available for seasonal hire or casual usage. All the city's pitches are hired out to the league each season. There are also four ponds available for freshwater angling all year round, one of which is at Pickering Park, prices start at £1.80. Other facilities at the park include outdoor bowls and boating lakes.
