INTRODUCTION

Harrow House was founded in 1969 and provides educational courses for students from more than 60 different countries. The College is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK. We also support Education UK, which is the Prime Minister's initiative encouraging all accredited institutions in the UK to work together and promote the benefits of British education abroad.

Harrow House is a member of the local regional association, the Recognised Accredited Language Schools Association (RALSA).

The care and attention given to students by our qualified and experienced teaching staff, both inside and outside the classroom situation, contributes greatly to the friendly and happy atmosphere at Harrow House.

The name Harrow House stands for quality and professionalism.

SOCIAL PROGRAMMES

Harrow House students live in an ideal environment in which they can study, relax and have fun. Harrow House staff organise evening activities seven evenings a week.
Due to the unrivalled facilities at Harrow House, which are open until late in the evenings, students are spoilt for choice and can participate in a selection of evening activities.
They can compete in sports activities, train in the fitness studio, play games, participate in competitions and organised theme parties, take part in lively discussions, go to the disco and dance the night away, or sing their hearts out at Karaoke.
Or they can simply relax, read a book, write home, send and receive e-mails, surf the internet, play the piano, immerse themselves into self-study in the learning centre, watch satellite TV or a DVD, chat with friends or listen to music.

EXCURSIONS

Regular excursions for Junior students, accompanied by our teachers, take place on Saturdays.
For all Junior Course students the full-day Saturday excursion and half-day Sunday excursion are included in the course fees and are obligatory.

Students of the Junior One-Week Mini-Stay Taster Course have 1 half-day Sunday excursion which is included in the course fees and is obligatory.

Junior excursion destinations include:

Bath
Winchester and Beaulieu
London (on request for closed groups with group leaders only)

Adult students can book excursions at extra cost. This cost is approximately £35 to £45 for a full-day excursion. Excursions for adult students are booked through an independent student travel agency and include a variety of options from full-day excursions to overnight and week-end trips throughout the UK and Europe.

STUDENT WELFARE

Harrow House prides itself on its high degree of student welfare. Our experienced residential staff oversee the welfare needs of all our residential students. In addition, we have qualified in-house welfare officers.
