Situated off Boxalls Lane, in Aldershot, Hampshire, Brickfields Country Park is probably one of the British Isles smallest and least known country parks. (Unless you know of one under 9 acres !) Opened in 1985 following two years of extensive work by Rushmoor Borough Council and the Manpower Services Commission, Brickfields Country Park was reclaimed from the remains of a derelict Victorian brickworks whose clay diggings had been used as an unofficial rubbish tip.

Brickfields Country Park is now a peaceful, natural park, known only by local residents and a few in the know - and now you ! .

Operated by The Friends of Brickfields Country Park in conjunction with Rushmoor Borough Council, The Friends were formed in 1992 by a group of local residents wanting to become involved the furtherance of a local amenity. The group operates under license from the Rushmoor Borough Council as part of the Parks Department, performing varied conservation tasks from rubbish clearing to building new paths. We are associated to Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership which links us to other conservation groups nationwide for training and advice.

We welcome involvement from anybody, as members of the group or occasional volunteers. Work parties are held in the park on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 1:30pm onwards unless it is bucketing down !, do look at the Dates page for the latest work schedules. No special skills are needed, just some strong footwear and a bit of enthusiasm !.

See our website www.brickfieldspark.org for the latest news and information about Brickfields Country Park. Over 900 pages of information - history - links - past and future dates - photos and descriptions of the current 280+ species of fauna and flora to be found in the park, including a gallery of over 600 photos of plants - flowers - animals - trees - views - park events and more from Brickfields Country Park.
