Three hundred years old, and family owned for the last seven years, the Durham Ox was recently named ""AA Pub of the Year"" for England. We pride ourselves on offering friendly and efficient service and ""cut above the rest"" traditional pub food and wine using only the best local ingredients, and it is wonderful to be recognised for this.

We are situated in the historic village of Crayke, with breathtaking views over the Vale of York on three sides, and a charming view up the hill to the Medieval Church.

Crayke is less that 20 minutes away from York City centre, and in the heart of Herriot Country. We are well placed for visits to Castle Howard, the walled gardens at Scampston, Byland Abbey and other stateley homes and historic sites.
