Award-winning Killhope is the North East's Small Visitor Attraction of the Year plus Gold Standard Green Tourism Destination. It is also the inaugural winner of the Guardian's Family Friendly Museum, winner of the North East England Sustainable Tourism award, Customer Service Silver Award 2006 and 2005 winner of the "Most Welcoming Experience."

Killhope is accredited as a 'Quality Assured Visitor Attraction' where visitors can discover the lives of Victorian lead mining families. Park Level mine is a real adventure. Equipped with hard hat, lamp and wellies, you are guided down the original tunnel. On the surface, dress up in Victorian style clothes and work as a washer boy. See the North of England's largest working water wheel, meander through woodland walks. Pennine Jewels and Spar Box exhibitions, shops and cafe enhance your day out in the country.
