Clitheroe Castle has now re-opened following major restoration to the Keep and a complete refurbishment of the museum. Developments within the new museum include innovative interactive galleries, disabled facilities, a changing exhibition space, a completely new education/meeting suite and a stunning glass entrance housing a souvenir shop and cafe.

This is all part of a £3.5 MILLION scheme to turn Clitheroe Castle into the area's premier all-weather visitor attraction after receiving a massive boost from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Take the kids around the museum's new interactive displays, which will tell the intriguing story of Clitheroe and Ribble Valley through the ages. Afterwards, sit back and relax in the restaurant whilst sampling local delicacies and chatting with friends. Explore 16 acres of surrounding formal gardens featuring a state-of-the-art skate park, playground, bandstand and the first Labyrinth in Lancashire. Don't leave without climbing to the top of the Castle for magnificent panoramic views of the Clitheroe and Ribble Valley landscape.
