A gem of a local history museum located in the centre of the historic market town of Hertford.
Displays show the history of Hertford. There are a series of temporary exhibitions every year illustrating local history, art and crafts.
The museum runs a series of activities and events to suit all ages and interests.
There is a Jacobean style knot garden to the rear of the museum open Tuesday to Saturday 10am- 5pm. Creams teas are served every Saturday in summer.
Children can enjoy the toys and events that take place in our first floor activity room (also used for school parties).
The museum shop on the ground floor stocks an interesting selection of local history books, cards, postcards, crafts and pocket money toys. Club/society visits can be arranged, with refreshments available on request.
