Discover beauty and inspiration through landscaped features, woodlands and walkways at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens.
Established in 1953 by distinguished plantsman Sir Harold Hillier, the magnificent collection of over 42,000 plants from temperate regions around the world are set within 180-acres.
Open all year, the Gardens display stunning seasonal variation and include 12 National Plant Collections, Gurkha Memorial Garden, 200 metre long summer flowering border, pond area, Bog Garden, the largest Winter Garden of its kind in Europe, and Children’s Education Garden which was opened in 2006 by Sir David Attenborough.

Events and exhibitions all year round, including annual Art In the Garden sculpture exhibition featuring 200 sculptures displayed around the Gardens from May to October.

The Stuff of Dreams - a House in the Trees! Our fabulous new play features are now open
With the help of our sponsors and the skill of the design team and contractor, the Gardens now have a very special house, supported on stilts and seeming to float in the crown of a magnificent pine tree. Supported by Hampshire County Council the tree house is built to include visitors of all abilities, this house and play feature will be enjoyed by young and old.
