A 17thC mansion on the site of a medieval royal castle and now a vibrant museum and art gallery with collections of paintings, decorative arts, military displays and the story of Nottingham gallery. Tours down Mortimer's Hole Caves are given and there is a programme of changing exhibitions of regional and national significance. There is an education service offering a wide range of activities and events. The 'Lookout' medieval playground is situated in the grounds.
