The Venerable Bede was early medieval Europe's greatest scholar and first to record the history of the English nation. He lived and worked as a monk at Jarrow. Travel back and explore his world and the amazing Golden Age of Northumbria, an age of saints and kings, at this exciting museum. See St Paul's Church and the ruins of the monastery where Bede lived, the attractive visitor centre with exhibitions, gift shop and newly refurbished restaurant, plus the recreated Anglo-Saxon farm with rare breeds of animals and replica timber buildings.
