Swaledale Cottages

Swaledale Cottages is a family run business offering holiday accommodation to people who expect and appreciate high levels of comfort and value for money.

The cottages are located in or around the village of Healaugh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, approximately 12 miles from Richmond. All of them date from the 18th or early 19th Centuries with each having its own individual character.

They have been modernised and renovated to a high standard.

Thiernswood hall is set in an elevated woodland positioned, at the end of its own drive. Two of the cottages The Bothy and Thiernswood Cottage are in the grounds but out of sight of The Hall.

The area is essentially walking country and you will find much to enjoy as you tramp the heather moors, ford the streams or pause to admire the handiwork of dry stone wallers.

The Bothy
Sleeping two is ideal as a honeymoon retreat. It is a cosy, tastefully decorated, fully modernised conversion of the tack rooms over the old stone stable block of Thiernswood Hall. This pleasant accommodation has the benefit of splendid views over the valley and a sunny garden in which to sit and relax, also undercover parking.

Thiernswood Cottage
Is an outstanding holiday home for four people. It is a fully modernised traditional Dales Cottage built around the 1850s. It has its own enclosed garden and private undercover parking and nestles under the wooded hillside. The superior accommodation includes a spacious lounge with open fire, dining room and kitchen, two bedrooms, one double and one twin both with en-suite facilities.

Swale View
Sleeps six people in 4 bedrooms. This is a lovely old period cottage that was originally the Village Inn. It is a very spacious property in the centre of the village of Healaugh. The cottage has a sunny south facing position and a walled garden with a warm southern aspect. There are superb views up, down and across the valley from the property and its garden.

Although recently renovated and modernised, Swale View retains plenty of character including a huge stone feature fireplace in the lounge and a delightful kitchen with an unusual vaulted dining alcove, which like all of our properties is equipped with high standard fixtures and fittings.

The accommodation comprises a spacious lounge, separate dining room, dining kitchen, a double bedroom with four-poster and en-suite facilities, twin bedded room and two single rooms, house bathroom and separate toilet. the cottage has oil fired central heating. Private off road parking for two cars.
