Few city centre hotels can boast a more desirable location than the Royal Lancaster. Opposite the Hotel, the 600 acres of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park provide stunning views from the windows. Leafy wooded areas abound for guest's enjoyment, yet only minutes away are the bustling shopping areas of Knightsbridge, Oxford Street and Bond Street. All forms of transport are easily accessible, and the Heathrow Express terminus at nearby Paddington Station makes London's principal airport a 20-minute journey away.

The Royal Lancaster has 416 bedrooms with all the modern facilities such as air-conditioning, double glazing, remote-controlled satellite television, high speed internet access and a direct dial telephone system with a dataport and voicemail in nine different languages. Executive bedrooms which include a working desk with international adaptors and modem points for business travellers have been installed on the top floors of the eighteen-storey hotel. Also on the top floors are 25 spacious Studio rooms and the Presidential Suite which is one of 22 elegant suites, all of them enhanced by having large windows with superb views over the park and London skyline.

The Hotel boasts one of Britain's best Thai restaurants. Nipa is sister to the restaurant of the same name in Bangkok's Landmark Hotel, and the teak panelling, furnishings and artefacts were all shipped from Thailand. Nipa is one of only 15 UK restaurants to have received the 'Thai Select' award from the Thai Government for restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine.

In July 2004 the Royal Lancaster will launch island, a new restaurant specialising in British fresh seasonal produce. Island will offer simple dishes which reflect our island location and excellent reputation for fine food. The main focus will be on the use of quality ingredients, simply cooked to bring out the natural flavours of the produce.

There is a Lounge Bar open 24 hours a day to residents for drinks, light snacks and traditional afternoon tea, and 24-hour room service is also available.

Of special note are the Hotel's conference and banqueting facilities the Royal Lancaster has been awarded Best UK Hotel meetings category 6 times. The 2 main function suites can each accommodate over 1000 guests and there is an in-house technical team who are well versed in the complexities of the sophisticated sound and audio-visual systems. In October 2004 the hotel will introduce 12 new meeting and syndicate rooms accommodating 8-200 people.

Other facilities at the Royal Lancaster include a 24-hour business centre, concierge desk, laundry and valet service, newsagent and gift shop and parking for 100 cars.

The Royal Lancaster is a four star deluxe hotel with a real buzz about it and friendly, efficient service qualities which resulted in the Hotel being awarded 2003 Hotel of the Year by the British Incoming Tour Operators Association.
