This delightful semi-detached 18th century cottage was originally built as two workers cottages and a separate barn before being converted to form a spacious character home comfortably accommodating up to 8 people.
Downstairs:
A front porch/cloakroom provides access to the spacious open plan ground floor with exposed stonework, parquet floors & beamed ceilings. Creature comforts include TV/DVD, separate music system, CDs and DVDs. A range of games are available for adults and children alike. A multi-fuel stove ensures a snug feel to the downstairs. The dining area is focussed around an antique oak trestle table and features a fully stocked library.
The well-equipped fitted kitchen includes a pantry, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and hob, toaster, and electric kettle with a cloakroom (containing WC and basin) close by.
Upstairs:
The first floor boasts a fabulous alternative living area with a number of attractive features: a vaulted ceiling; exposed stonework; a snooker table, a large multi-fuel stove and tea and coffee making facilities. There are also three comfortable double bedrooms (one with a twin-zip bed), two snug single bedrooms and two bathrooms each containing a shower and a bath. The master bathroom is host to a roll-top bath and a power shower to ensure a relaxing wash after a day out in the hills. Nearly all the upstairs rooms enjoy the beautiful south facing view across Coverdale. The upstairs accommodation is split across the original cottage and the recently added barn conversion creating a private peaceful space away from the hustle and bustle of the main areas. Each bedroom has been beautifully decorated and there is plenty of storage space.
High chairs (x2) and travel cot are available on request.
Outside:
The laundry room, with washing machine and tumble dryer, is situated in the old coal store that also provides ample storage for outdoor equipment. There is a large, mature, lawned garden with outstanding views across the dale to the front of the property and a spacious patio to the back. There is ample parking for four cars.
