Coventry's art gallery and museum is in the middle of a major redevelopment which is expected to be complete by mid 2008. Situated a couple of minutes walk away from both the Cathedral and the city's main city centre shopping area, the gallery currently has open its cafe, shop and two gallery spaces. Some items from the museum's collection are on display including paintings and sculture. The main gallery space is used for a programme of temporary art or history exhbitions. The cafe offers high quality food at reasonable prices ranging through the day from breakfast through to afternoon tea.
The Arts Information Centre is housed on the second floor of The Herbert. It holds a comprehensive reference library of arts related publications with seating areas for research and informal meetings. The Centre has two public access PCs available for Internet research and basic word processing facilities. Photocopying facilities are also available.
